The moon has long fascinated artists and poets. It has also inspired local media artist Phoebe Hui for several years. The Works featured her exhibition “The Moon Is Leaving Us” four years ago. Her new exhibition at the Oi! Street Art Space comes down to Earth and brings together plants and technology in a meditation on the evolving relationship between nature and the human body.

The University of Hong Kong’s Museum and Art Gallery has collaborated with L’ECOLE, School of Jewelry Arts to present this exhibition. Titled “Designing Jewels: 200 years of French Savoir-Faire” it presents the history of jewellery design and craftsmanship, mostly through rarely seen design drawings. On display are 13 pieces of jewellery, and around 100 drawings, including designers’ line drawings and gouache illustrations.

Samson Chan has been the Hong Kong Sinfonietta’s bass trombonist since the 2023/2024 season. He studied for his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music in the United Kingdom before returning to Hong Kong as a visiting student at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He’s previously performed with several local and international orchestras and musical groups, but next week he’s headlining his debut Hong Kong recital. He’s with us right now.
