On Wednesday's Backchat: the Lantau Tomorrow Vision; and Australia prepares to reopen its borders.
Fifteen environmental groups have jointly criticized an environmental impact assessment report for the project, saying it underestimates the impact on marine life and carbon emissions.
In recent weeks much attention has been focused on another ambitious plan, the proposed Northern Metropolis announced in the Chief Executive’s policy address last month – and the administration says both mega projects will proceed in order to address the territory’s long-term housing needs and to advance infrastructure and economic development.
