On Tuesday's Backchat: Covid-19 and domestic helpers; rising property prices in HK.

The latest infection control requirements imposed on foreign domestic helpers have been met with strong criticism from both the employer and employee sides, with the helpers saying they feel discriminated against, and employers complaining about a lack of solutions for possible labour disputes.

Last Friday the authorities ordered all 370,000 foreign domestic helpers to get tested for Covid-19 before May 9, after two Filipino maids were found to be carrying mutated strains of the virus.

What do you think about this testing requirement for domestic workers from overseas? Is it a form of discrimination, or a sensible precaution, as the government insists it is?

From 9:15am-9:30am, we'll be discussing why the price of Hong Kong property keeps rising despite the economic damage caused by Covid-19.
