On Tuesday's Backchat, poverty alleviation in the mainland - and success for Nomadland.


In early April, Beijing had issued a white paper to share insights and actions to reduce poverty in the mainland. This came afterXi Jinping had declared a "complete victory" that ended extreme poverty in the country.


How effective is China's extreme poverty alleviation scheme in reality, and how did it approach the problem? What are the lessons for other countries to learn? What about Hong Kong? Has inequality also decreased?
