US Presidential Election race / Streamlined airport security process

2024-06-28
On Friday's Backchat, we're talking about the US Presidential elections.

Incumbent US president Joe Biden and predecessor Donald Trump are set to take to the stage for a 90-minute Presidential debate in a face-off expected to test both candidates' oratory skills — with age once again in the spotlight.

The two presumptive party nominees are expected to clash on a range of contentious issues, from abortion and immigration to trade and foreign policy. Mr Trump's criminal conviction for falsifying business records could be a major talking point of this year's televised debate, while Mr Biden may be challenged on his son's drug use and gun conviction.

Are the two candidates fit for office? Which one would you choose if you had a vote? Tell us what you think.

After 9:50, we learn more about the airport's new security upgrades, which will no longer require passengers to unpack their carry-on luggage.
