On Wednesday's Backchat: teaching history to school children; and ethnic minority children learning Chinese.
A Hong Kong primary school has faces criticism after pupils as young as six were made to watch graphic footage of the Nanking massacre, leaving some frightened and in tears.
The video was endorsed by the Education Bureau, which included scenes of Japanese soldiers killing Chinese civilians, as well as fields littered with the dead, including the bodies of babies.
Asked about the controversy on Tuesday, Chief Executive Carrie Lam said the government would not order teachers to use certain materials, and it was a matter of professional judgement by school staff.
Meanwhile, another principal said it was the first year that schools had been asked to mark the massacre and officials had not given schools enough time to prepare, having only notified them on November 22.
