On Monday's Backchat: land supply.
Political parties are calling on the administration to accelerate the supply of land – particularly in the New Territories for housing and business development.
Ahead of Chief Executive Carrie Lam’s policy address on Wednesday, October 6, they suggested relaxing rules for indigenous villagers to sell their ancestral plots, and also the developments of wetlands.
The DAB party is suggesting that 400,000 homes can be built in the northern New Territories.
Meanwhile, the Development Secretary, Michael Wong, has said the government expects the number of private flats generated in the first three quarters of the 2021/22 financial year to exceed its full-year target.
