Artificial Intelligence guidelines in finance / Visitor quotas in geoparks?
2024-10-29
On Tuesday's Backchat, we’re talking about artificial intelligence (AI) development. The Hong Kong government released its first guidelines on artificial intelligence in the financial sector, in a move to promote AI integration in finance while addressing emerging cybersecurity, data privacy and intellectual property challenges.
The policy statement calls on financial institutions to formulate an AI governance strategy while stressing the need for human oversight throughout the process. The government said that it will work more closely with financial regulators, with the latter expected to review and update regulations in tandem with technological development.
Speaking at the opening of the FinTech week on Monday, Financial Secretary Paul Chan described the local market’s approach towards AI as both “open and prudent”, vowing to strike a balance.
After 9:45, we talk about proposals to introduce a visitor quota in the geo-park, following the first ever dinosaur fossil discovery.
