UK elections / NGO report on Nepalese youth

2024-06-07
On this week’s programme, we're talking about the UK general elections.

British people will be called to the polling stations on July 4, in an election that could see Conservatives ousted by their Labour rivals after 14 years in power.

Immigration remains a focal point of the race with both camps in a war of words over the country's policy towards newcomers and undocumented migrants.

Trade and the EU are also high on the agenda, as a Labour victory could mean deepening ties between the UK and the EU.

Would a Labour victory significantly change the UK's trade policies? We'll find out.

In the second part of the programme, we'll talk about a new report on challenges faced by Nepalese and other ethnic minority youth in Hong Kong.

9:05am-9:30am: UK elections

9:05am-9:30am: Sandra Marco Colino, Associate Professor, School of Law, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

9:30am-10:00am: NGO report on Nepalese youth

9:30am-10:00am: John Tse, Executive Director of Hong Kong Unison
9:30am-10:00am: Shalini Mahtani, Founder of the Zubin Foundation
