A 29-strong delegation of mainland Olympians has concluded a three-day visit to the territory, after putting on displays of their sporting prowess and answering questions from fans.
The top athletes included Su Bingtan – the first Asian-born sprinter to break the 10-second barrier in the 100 metres – and five-timme Olympic table tennis gold medal winner Ma Long.
Earlier, Chief Executive Carrie Lam urged schools to promote sport as a way of bolstering young people’s sense of national identity.
From 9:15am, we’re talking about the iconic Clock Tower in Tsim Sha Tsui, where the bell will be rung again this Thursday, for the first time in 71 years.
