On Thursday's Backchat: drug abuse among young people, and world’s most expensive cities.
The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups says a study suggests the number of young people using marijuana has increased by nearly 80 percent in the past two years.
It said that among the 114 people aged between 10 and 35 who are receiving anti-drug support from the group, the number of cannabis abusers has grown from nine cases in 2019 to 16 cases this year.
Marijuana is shown to be the most popular drug, with 37 percent taking it in the past three years, followed by cocaine and methamphetamine hydrochloride, known as ice.
From 9:15am, we’re talking about Hong Kong losing its top ranking as the world's most expensive city in the latest index from the Economist Intelligence Unit.
