On Thursday’s Backchat, we're talking about mega events. Chief Executive John Lee said that Hong Kong would host dozens more "mega events" throughout the year, increasing their numbers from 150 to 210.

The government expects to attract an extra 1.7 million visitors to the territory and pump HK$4.3 billion into the economy.

However, some economists have argued that the strong Hong Kong dollar has discouraged people from visiting, as it is more expensive for tourists to travel to the city.
