Weekly Roundup / International study trend on the mainland
2025-05-31
This week, CM Chan and Chloe Feng will discuss the international study trend on the mainland, in light of the dispute between the Trump administration and Harvard University.
For decades, many ambitious Chinese parents have dreamed of sending their children to Harvard University, known as the most prestigious higher education institution in the US. But many are now likely reconsidering their plans after US President Donald Trump sought to ban the university from enrolling international students, who account for about 25-30 percent of Harvard’s student body, with the majority coming from the mainland. So how will this development impact the international study trend on the mainland, and what should students do to deal with the uncertainties?
CM Chan and Chloe Feng will discuss this with Gideon Goldfeder, Academic Partner and Service Director at Holistic Education Consulting.
