President Donald Trump has told Bloomberg News that he will pull the US out of the World Trade Organisation if they don’t treat his country better. Mr Trump has also reportedly told officials he wants to move ahead with plans to place tariffs on US$200bn of Chinese imports as soon as possible after the 6 September deadline for public comment passes. That has sent US stocks lower overnight.

Argentina has raised its benchmark interest rate to 60% in an attempt to halt the devaluation of its currency. A day earlier, President Mauricio Macri asked the IMF to speed up the disbursement of its US$50bn bailout package. The peso tumbled as much as 15% against the dollar overnight.

Donald Trump has stepped up his attacks on the media and called for the sacking of CNN president Jeff Zucker, after describing the cable news channel as the “enemy of the people.” Mr Trump also expressed anger at NBC News and suggested its president Andy Lack could be fired, without providing any evidence for his claim.

Chinese owned gay dating app Grindr is to seek an overseas public listing according to a filing with the Shenzhen stock exchange by its owner, online games company Beijing Kunlun. Grindr, which was launched in 2009, has grown into the world’s largest social networking app for LGBTQ people and accounts for 4% of Beijing Kunlun’s profits according to the filing.
