Fung, a jobless school-dropout, hides in the darkness of his room and doesn’t even bother coming out to have his meals. Besides playing electronic games, peeping the world outside through his telescope is his only other pastime – and Angel is the heroine in his telescope lens. Angel, an elite student with long, straight dark hair, is beginning to have emotional problems and locks herself up at home, under all sorts of stress ranging from college prospects, family finances to peer pressure from her drama group fellows. Fung is paying attention to this “angel” through his telescope – while his mother is doing the same to him outside his door. Here Angel, with her long, straight dark hair dyed gold, picks up a pair of scissors to hack her hair in her room – then closes the windows and draws the curtains. A thick cloud of smoke roams out of Angel’s curtain, Fung scrambles out of his home in horror, and his sleepless mother calls the police at once. As Fung stares at Angel’s closed windows and looks back to his own sealed windows, he comes to know the similarity here…now back to his home with the worried face of his mother in front of him, Fung begins to tear off the papers sealing up his windows…
