St John's Cathedral - Stuart Wolfendale - Part.2
2014-01-25
返回
As the bells toll in Central district, Stuart Wolfendale sits in the sunny garden next to St John's Cathedral to tell Annemarie all about the church and Anglican Diocese's history, since the Cathedral was built in 1849. Money was always scarce, but the congregation were keen. Early plaques show early deaths from disease in the 19th century, and some controversial ways of bringing the much-needed cash in, such as pew rents. Wolfendale is the author of "Imperial to International: A History of St John's Cathedral, Hong Kong".
