Molly Odell

2019-01-26

This week, Annemarie chats with Mrs Molly Odell, who was born in 1931 in Baghdad. She would later marry, David Odell, in Hong Kong, the son of Hong Kong’s first impresario Harry Odell. Molly Odell was in Shanghai during the Second World War and recalls the malnutrition; she also describes the bravery of her mother-in-law, Sophie Odell, who helped prisoners in Hong Kong. More happily, Molly tells of her wedding in the Peninsula Hotel, and the social life at the Hongkong Hotel
