Wang Tifu

2019-01-19

During the Second World War, Chinese diplomat Wang Tifu was based in Berlin and would issue visas to thousands of Jews, helping them to escape Nazi Germany. Wang Tifu was forced to work for the Japanese puppet government in Manchukuo or Manchuria in northern China, the start of a life that saw him spend 30 years in prison. This week, Annemarie welcomes back Mark O’Neill, the author of Israel and China: From the Tang Dynasty to Silicon Wadi, to talk about the life of Wang Tifu.
